Dunkirk Celebrations

On Wednesday 26 May 2010 we had a trip to Ramsgate harbour to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dunkirk.

When we arrived we saw military trucks, jeeps, ambulances, RAF cars, fire trucks and an old steam tug which we boarded to have a look.  It was full of original equipment which we were shown.  The home guard were wandering around and there was an original NAAFI and a 1940s singer.  The little ships were arranged in the harbour as in 1940 when they helped rescue some of the 340,000 men stranded on Dunkirk beach.

The boys from Ripplevale were a credit to the school, showing impeccable behaviour and respect.
