Ripplevale Lower School aims to provide a vibrant and purposeful learning environment for pupils. The lower school has two main classrooms with smaller rooms available for Food Technology, ICT and Art. Classrooms are well equipped with laptop computers and interactive whiteboards. The main school also has extensive sports fields, gymnasium, Science Laboratory and Design Technology room which pupils from the lower school will use when timetabled. Ripplevale Lower School offers a broad and balanced curriculum based on the National Curriculum.
At Key Stage 3, pupils follow the National Curriculum programmes of study whilst also studying a wide range of additional units of work that are geared to developing life skills. The ‘educational’ needs of a pupil are carefully balanced with their social needs, their needs to acquire life skills and their ability to interact with others. Statements of Special Needs are reviewed annually in line with current legislation and good practice.
